Aquarius!

We had our first sonogram this afternoon and the due date for our upcoming little one is February 2, 2009. Just 2 days before Aunt Jennifer and 4 days before Aunt Deanna! Lots of little Aquarius' coming right up!! During the sonogram the little guy was very busy fluttering all around, just kickin' those arm and leg buds like crazy! I did just read this interesting factoid on Wikipedia: "Many Astrologers consider Aquarius to be the most physically attractive sign and are often stunning". LOOK OUT! Here are the first pic's of the little bugger although it is hard to tell quite yet if we have a looker...

Boatin' Day

Uncle Trey and Marisa came in for the weekend and we spent Friday at the lake. Once again Ella's favorite place was the driver's seat. Every time Kevin would try to put his hands on the wheel she would attempt to pull them off so she could be in control! She was much more brave this trip and walked back and forth while the boat was moving. Maybe we will have a lake rat soon!

Playtime at Home

Dana, Noah and Vivian came over this morning to hang out for a bit. What fun we had! Since Ella and Noah are both in the "MINE!" stage, it was fun to seize teachable sharing moments : ) Brandy joined us after a while and we all ate lunch and talked about how this time next year, between the 3 of us, we will have 6 kiddos!!! Congrats on the upcoming twinkies Auntie Brandy!!

Fun Wednesday Morning

We met Heather, Brooke and Natalie at Northwest Pool this morning and spent a couple of hours in the water. Just like at the springs on Saturday Ella was petrified at first and would not let go of me. After a while she became more brave and actually ventured out into the water by her lonesome. We're making progress! What ever happened to my little fish from last summer?? After we'd had our fill of the pool we headed over to Phil's Icehouse for some lunch. The girls played on the playground until I thought I was going to melt in the 800 degree sun. I can't WAIT for August!! I bet it'll be 4,000 degrees then! FUN!

Pint Sized Chair

Before we left for swimming lessons this morning Ella decided she needed to sit in her new patio chair on the deck and reflect about life and it's many facets...

Ella and Eva

We headed out for a play date with Eva and her mom, Sara, at Little Stacey park. The girls had a blast on the playground and the fun continued at Eva's house where the girls managed to make a huge mess of Eva's room and get snacks all over the house! Sorry Sara!! We look forward to the next play date (if you'll have us after that mess)!

Zilker Park

Here she's decided to wear all of the bathing suit pieces she could dig up out of the drawer. Ella and I headed out for Zilker Park this morning to check out the train, The Zilker Zepher, and take a dip in the springs. She had a great time on the ride and really put me in my place: every time I tried to hold on to her on the train she grabbed my hand and put it back in my lap. UGH! I shudder to think of what's ahead for Little Miss Independent.... We shared a snow cone before heading over to Barton Springs. We had a good time taking a dip, only Little Miss Independent wouldn't let go of me and screamed every time I tried to put her down in the water! I guess independence has a time and a place and in the springs was NOT one of them for Ella.

My How Time Flies...

We were leaving the pool this evening and as I was walking behind Kevin, Ry and Ella I couldn't help but thinking how quickly the time has passed. Where has my baby gone? What a big girl walking with Papa, all independent these days! Makes me smile really big!!

Ummm... What is that, Ella?

We had our 18 month well check and immunizations this morning and Ella is finally out of the 25th percentile!! Yippee! She is now in the 50th percentile for height and weight. I think her attitude is in the 99th percentile however ; ) Later she decided to dig in the laundry basket and find some treasures. I couldn't help but laugh out loud when she walked into the room all nonchalant wearing my bra around her neck like a necklace. Nice, Baby Girl!

Sprinkler

We played in the sprinkler for a bit after dinner this evening. It was all fun and games until an ant got a hold of her. Then the fun was O- V- E -R!

Visiting Papa at the Firestation

Once we got into Houston we went to visit Papa at his firestation. We met his crew and Ella played on the fire truck, which she LOVED! She was really only happy in the driver's seat and screamed bloody murder when I tried to remove her so we could go. My camera went dead before we left so the rest of the weekend was documented with Gram and Pop's camera, so not sure if those pictures will ever be recovered since they have no idea where the cord for the camera is. BUT, there were some super cute and incriminating ones of her in the tub with her cousins Gus and Ethan!

Sleeping Hobo Style

Before we left for Houston Ella decided she was pretty darn tired and needed to catch some quick zzz's. On the kitchen floor with a palette made of some paper bags and her blanket. This makes me look like I'm depriving the child in more ways than one. Awesome.

Still Very Early, BUT....

WE'RE PREGNANT!!!! Two tests in a row came up positive immediately this afternoon!!!! YAY!!!!! Daddy's still a little shell shocked, but I'm as happy as can be!

Pool Time!

Lazy day at Uncle Ry's pool. She loved the bubbles, but only wanted to blow them herself, which as you can see she didn't quite master. Kevin was a little upset about the bikini though, so after this one doesn't fit I guess we'll stick to one pieces.

Visiting Friends

Here's my big girl eating yogurt with a spoon ALL BY HERSELF!! So half of it went on her shirt, but it was a good start! Later, Heather and her twins, Scarlett and Ruby, dropped by for a visit! We were SO excited to meet them! Sweet little baby girls! Ella was fascinated with the carrier and wanted to be in it. Then when the twinkies were both back in their carriers I wanted to get a picture of them and Ella together. Miss Ella had other plans. She decided that if she was going to be in the picture she was going to be in a carrier; even if there was a baby in it already. Since that didn't work out for her she threw a fit and refused to take part in the photo. So here are the twins, minus my stubborn daughter! Finally in the evening we went to bbq at the Geck's house. Here Miss Ella and Sloan hangin' on the couch. How cute are they!! I wish I'd have used the flash, but you get the idea!

Justa Friday

She just realized her red car on the patio even though it's been sitting out there for over 6 months now. She just hasn't learned how to make her feet go yet, so she gets in and grunts until someone pushes her. Granny had the honors of pushing her around the yard in the thousand degree weather all day today! Later on in the evening (after her bath!! Hence the t-shirt/diaper/shoes motif she's got goin' on) she decided she wanted to play outside. I thought it would be a quick trip around the yard and then off to bed, well, she had other plans. The sand box was where she was headed. Guess what we did when we came back inside? YUP! Bathtime #2!

The Winter Hat Fetish

I had a drawer of her future clothes open and she decided to pull this hat and try it on. She subsequently has become very keen on wearing it around the house. These pictures are especially great because of her awesome t-shirt/diaper/shoes ensemble. Here she goes again blazing the trail of high fashion! Here she is earlier in the day in her rocking chair she's decided she likes to sit and read in.
